8 weeks old!

Amazing...8 weeks ago God gave us the most beautiful gift.  Time is going way to fast!  We love you Eden!

Bath Time with Dad

Up until last week we had continued to give Eden sponge baths versus using the baby bathtub...I guess that was one of those new parent fears, what if she hates it and screams.  The sponge bath was working just fine and she didn't mind it.  Finally last week we decided we needed to get over it so we got the tub out...well, success!  She loves it!!!  Brian has even dripped water on her face and she just blinks and smiles!

2011 Christmas Card and Birth Announcement

We combined our 2011 Christmas Card and birth announcement into one.  Oh my word too cute!!!  The photographer, Dave, did a great job. He started an offshoot of his main photography business (211 Photography) called Bloom Portraits (link below).  Through bloom he offers mini portrait sessions for $25...no kidding $25, that is a steal!  He is super talented too!

Birth announcement..adorable!

Christmas card...to die for!

Thank you Dr. Buckman and Garry Ezzo

I shouldn't be writing this because I am probably going to jinx it!  Dr. Bucknam and Garry Ezzo wrote the book Baby Wise.  When we found out we were pregnant of course we developed a plan...for those of you who know me you know I need to have a plan for everything!  After the success my brother and sister-in-law had using the Baby Wise principals with our nephew Peyton we decided to follow the plan.  Baby Wise basically promotes getting your baby on a schedule using parent directed feeding principals and your baby will be sleeping through the night (7-8 hours) by 7-8 weeks.  Well....Eden was 6 weeks old yesterday and last night she went down at 10:30pm and at 4am I still hadn't heard anything from her.  The past 3 nights she had been up between 3 and 3:30am so I had to go in and check on her.  She was still out like a light!  Five and a half hours...I think we are well on our way to 7-8 hours in the next few weeks.  The hard work of scheduling her is paying off!

Christmas Tree Hunt

Time is flying, Eden is growing way to fast.  Slow down please!  Thanksgiving signals the start of the Christmas season and Brian and I have always kicked it off with a Christmas tree hunt in the National Forest.  They sell permits for $10 to cut down trees from specific areas in various National Forests.  This year we got a permit for the Buffalo Creek Area (Daddy's favorite place to mountain bike).  With Eden in tow we headed out on Saturday, November 26.  Weather was a bit chilly, high 30's, but with the sun it felt a lot warmer.  Took us a little over an hour but we found a keeper!  So amazing to start to create memories with our baby girl!  We love you Eden!

Baby Eden's First Hike!

I have to admit this is why we live in Colorado!  Can it get any better (Yes if family was here)?  Thanksgiving day, 70 degrees...beautiful hiking!  Eden went on her first hike at Betasso Preserve outside Boulder.  3.2 miles and she slept the whole time...I promise she was excited!

2 Frosty's!

A week after Eden was born Denver was hit with a typical October snowstorm...naturally Daddy had to make her an Eden sized snowman!  Then a week later when Grandma and Grandpa were here we got another snowstorm and of course Grandpa had to one up Daddy and make a Grandpa sized snowman complete with eyes, nose, arms and hair!
